Suzanne Collins sold out when she wrote
Mockingjay. There were so few redeeming qualities I can't even dredge up one good point to offset the criticism. Characters were blah. Plot was ridiculous.Nothing was logical or probable even within the weird world of the Hunger Games. Maybe Buttercup, the miserable cat--maybe he was the only part of the story I remotely found believable. What a waste of money and time! Now I know that if you have the right lead in and the right pull, you can publish anything and sell it to simple-minded readers like me. Once--

I just finished reading the first Hunger Games book about an hour ago and really enjoyed it. I read it in a day and a half. I plan on reading the second one soon. I have heard the third book isn't good.
I haven't read any of her and it appears I have not missed anything. My reading style is pretty much just like me..silly, funny, lighthearted..or about dogs :-)
Oh man. I finally got the book back from my kids and am about half way through it but so far it really has been rather blah - so disappointing.
