Look At Me

Two blog posts in two days...and they said this wouldn't last. hahaha

We have lived for seven years with an ugly track light in the kitchen. An ugly track light that didn't put out any light. An ugly light that I was going to take a picture of but didn't. It was your typical builder grade light that probably cost $20 when the house was built. You all know the kind. No picture needed.

So finally after getting several bids and balking at the cost, we threw caution to the wind and got can lights and an island light installed.

I love it. Rick came home to see it and said, "Do you like it? I like it if you do?"

I hate it when he says that. It's so anticlimactic and  wimpy. You must say, "Yes, wife of mine who worked like a fiend picking out lights and getting this lined up, I LOVE the lights! They look great and you are a genius to get this done at a reasonable price. The island light is perfect and did not cost too much despite not knowing what you paid for it."

That is an answer! Be better than the typical man, Rick. You know what to say! Say it! I don't really care what you really feel. Just say what makes me feel good.

So the kitchen is brighter. After the installation, I spent 3 hours cleaning up the area above the cabinets, every flat surface in the great room, and the floor. I even had dust and insulation in the refrigerator. ( I don't even want to know how that happened. We don't have any beer or good food in there so I have no idea why it was opened. I was gone getting my hair cut. Oh, well.)

So that is my Monday. I'm excited to be able to see when (if) I cook. Rick does not have a voice when it comes to the kitchen. I don't tell him (too often) how to arrange the garage and all of his junk there.

That is a great change. Yes. Track lighting. The bane of older homes.
Who thought that would be a good idea?

Oh my goodness, i was just telling my husband how much I hate our track lighting. Who knows when, if ever, we'll do something about it.
