Happy 4th Sans Gray Roots

There are several things that make me truly ballistic: 1) having something I need right then break--like the car, the computer, anything 2) losing something that I need like keys, documents, my mind  3) not getting my hair dyed on the exact three-week date.

So, this morning I experienced two out of three and nearly threw up from frustration.  I won't go into the whole gruesome details, but last Monday was "my hair day." I have absolutely white hair (I think).{ I haven't let it go naturale for about 15 years. I tried it once then and had people tell me I looked like death walking and that I should not EVER let it go gray again.} Rick is younger than I so it's doubly important I don't look like I'm his mother or grandmother. Anyway, my roots are showing badly and I waited for scheduling lady to call me all week. She didn't. She's been out of town. What?? Why did no one tell me this? Yesterday I finally facebooked the lady who does my hair saying WTF?? Where's my appt.? She left a message on my answering machine to call her because she was leaving town for the 4th. I called and called and called.

 "Pick up the phone, Stacy!"

Finally she answered and I have an appointment in an hour and a half. It was pretty scary there for a moment! I actually start hyperventilating when I fear I can't get my hair done.

Then I was going to  write a note to an older lady in my former ward in Idaho. She's a retired teacher too and is just a sweet lady. She's quite a bit older than I am, but she's a wonderful friend who I've sort of lost touch with. So I looked for my address book from Twin Falls and couldn't find it anywhere. Finally, I texted my daughter to send me the number of a family in TF. (Rachel has an amazing memory for old phone numbers.) One error later, I finally called Cathy to get me Carolyn's address. Sheesh! That was hard.

That was my frustrating morning! I am all flummoxed now and only have a few minutes to do all I needed to do earlier before it's time to go to THE hair appt.

We have no plans for the 4th. It's too hot and crowded to go any where down here. We'll probably just spend the weekend in the pool with the dogs. Who can top that? Wet dogs and an old, flabby couple bobbing in the water--nothing better... America, America...!

Hey at least get a few sparklers:D It'll make you feel patriotic while bobbing - hee hee!

Glad you were able to get an appt. before the 4th. It's a bummer to have to wait.

Have a super Weekend!

So annoying about your hair apt, but at least you got that taken care of! I need to fix up my hair too one of these days.

I'm finally getting my hair cut tomorrow, well at least dead ends trimmed. I'm not planning on cutting it until at least after my wedding! but it's been over 3 months since I had it trimmed. I'm falling down on the job!

I swear I am incapable of hearing about people from Twin without asking this: do I know Carolyn? What's her last name?
Glad you got your appointment!

Glad to hear you got the hair situation under control.

I think bobbing in the pool with dogs sounds like a plan I wouldn't say NO to.

Hair appointment days are my favorite days of all. They make me happy. Glad you were able to get in!

I do it myself. I'm in the same boat as you color wise and as often as it needs to be done, I can't imaging having to get it done. Not to mention the cost! But I guess you do what ya gotta do!
