Now that the elections are over, I shall concentrate on the holidays--Thanksgiving. Christmas. Magical...
All those family dinners, carolers, twinkle lights, gingerbread, turkey, cranberries, presents-- the idea of the holidays is delicious, but the actuality...? 
I cherish the TV ads. I cry every time at the Hallmark and Kodak depictions. I decorate, cook, shop, wrap, listen to the music--such a busy, bustling time. Christmas programs, birth of the Savior, spirit of giving--nothing better. Yet when Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day finally get here I find myself deflated and depressed. It is so over-- so bones picked clean, crumpled wrapping paper, broken toys, and dirty snow.

I simply must brace for the barrage of emotions, preparations, and celebrations knowing that the anticlimactic plunge will be a blast of cold air even in the warmth of Arizona.

I totally understand - it can be a letdown after getting all excited for months before to all of a sudden have everything...done!
I love it all while it is going on though :-)
I hit that too! Get so excited about the Holiday season and once it's over, you are left with a messy house and if it snows, then nasty dirty depressing weather!

This holiday stuff is too early for me. We're only days away from Halloween... why is there Christmas stuff hung up in the mall right now? It's stressing me out!
That's so interesting! I'm actually the opposite. All the hullabaloo leading up to the holidays kind of drives me batty. I love the holidays themselves, but not all the hype, TV shows, music, decor, etc. When finally the unwrapping of the presents is over, I feel a huge sense of relief!
