Hair Today---Gone Who Knows Where...

Really interesting day at the hair appointment. I drove the 28 miles to the lady's house. Her car, her mom's car, her husband's two cars were all in the drive. I rang. I knocked. I went back to the shop which was wide open. I went to the back door and slid it open and hollered. Nothin'.

So I called her cell. No answer. I called the lady that sets up her appointments for her. No answer. I left. As I was driving away, appointment lady called. No idea where hair lady was. I just can't go through all the steps but they included calls and texts to every known relative of hair lady. Nothing!

As any normal human would, I assumed they'd all been murdered in their bedrooms. I did not look there. I called Holly. She doesn't know hair lady but assumed they'd been massacred also. I ask Holly for the name of her hair lady. Just as I was going to call new hair lady for an appointment some time in the future, present hair appointment setter called.

My hair lady was not dead. There was no homicide. She had gone back to bed after her kids left for school and was asleep. Obviously, REALLY asleep! She would see me now.

Slowly I U-turned. I drove the 6 miles back from where I went to buy a Diet Coke to the hair shop. I got my Diet Coke free because the employees at Wendy's left me standing there a while and the manager came in and was mad at them so she gave me a free large diet for waiting.

I went to hair lady. She colored and shaped my hair. It still looks somewhat moppy to me. At least it doesn't have gray roots. Hair lady gave me free color and trim because I drove almost 70 miles (round trip and part way back and part way forth) and worried about her untimely murder. I let her do it free. I don't care that my daughter thinks I'm weird and stingy. I spent a lot of extra time worrying, calling Holly, calling daughter, and calling appointment lady. I deserved a freebie.

I still look bad. I believe I will call Holly's lady next time I need my hair done. I believe that I'm exhausted from my turmoil. I am going to watch the new episodes of "Harry's Law" and "Law and Order SVU" and then collapse in bed. This saving of lives and mystery solving is exhausting. I'm utterly spent!

After you recover from your busy day, you need to post a picture of the cut and color. I would have taken the freebies also.

Glad I'm not the only one to assume the worst!
Finding a good hair lady is up there with President of the USA. A good one is worth her weight in gold, a bad one, needs to be voted out!
Mine is retiring in the next few years, let me know how it goes with Holly's gal, I may be commuting ;)

That is EXACTLY the conclusion I would have jumped to! Or maybe that she'd been abducted by aliens.

And yea for freebies! But sorry about the fuzzy brain. I think we all go through fuzzy periods. I guess our brains just need breaks for awhile. Like how the computer sometimes freezes and you have to give it a minute and restart it before it can work properly again. :-)

I'm glad no one was murdered in the telling of your story. It really did seem like the most logical conclusion. Maybe I should have met you out there and we could have gone all Columbo on that scene and figured it out. Next time. See your hair next week?

If you ever wanna go further than 28 miles and see new parts of the valley, I'll get you an appointment with my guy. There was a time when I drove to 32nd and Camelback for a few years to have my hair done. Then he got too expensive. So now the guy I go to is across the street from me. I'd walk but it's too damn hot!!!

Murder is/was the only logical explanation. But glad that she was indeed alive. So what was her mother's car doing there? Still sounds, um....fishy!

Hell to the YEAH on the freebie.

And please post pictures - need to see the do!

You always make me laugh Jo - but in all seriousness that is the exact conclusion I would have jumped to also. I don't like weird stuff.

Glad you're ok and got a mopey haircut in the meantime.

Oh. my. Gosh! That is awful! Yes, my dear, you deserve MORE than a free DIet Coke, color and trim..you deserve the world's most tenacuous award..and if I could actually spell "tenacious" we'd both be better off. Oh, and guess what? I know I am typing because my cursor is moving, but I see nothing!
