Completely Random

1. Rick accused me of throwing away a receipt he needed for work. I was up to my elbows in the trash and the recycling box looking for this scrap of paper from QT proving he got gas for the shop vehicle. He said it was for over $100. He brought up the time I inadvertently cut up his boss's credit card thinking it was one of ours...which unfortunately is all too true and fodder for another post (not this one.) So all night and part of the morning I was apologizing profusely for my neatness neurosis. "Tell the boss it was your crazy wife. I accept full responsibility," I stated. "I'll take the blame." Rick obsesses, you know. He mentioned that receipt at least 20 times, tapping the spot where it once lay in mourning for my madness.

THEN--then as he was getting ready to leave this morning, he went out to the garage and happened to look in his coveralls. And there in the pocket--THE LOST RECEIPT. Aha! And the total was for only $25--not over &100, Rickster. I have been exonerated!! (However, I'm sure there are many such offenses in my future.) I hate clutter! Keep track of your scraps of paper in our house, fella, or they are tossed. You've been warned! (a miss is as good as a mile...)

2. Tom Brokaw was on the Today show looking pale and gray, but still cute--just aging cute. I used to have such a crush on him. I know--how nerdy am I!! But it's true. I just think he's handsome and smart and cute as a button, even now. I also can't believe how senior Robert Redford and Clint Eastwood appear. You can see from my choice of crushes how really antiquated I am also. I just was musing on this. Old people are allowed to muse...

3. I'm sick to death of Charlie Sheen and his deplorable behavior. I'm sorry for Bob and Max his adorable children, but those kids have two wacko parents and it's too bad people like that procreate. There are other events in life newsworthy perhaps--NOT Charlie!!

4. Reading the book Room. Have you read it? Interestingly disturbing story of a little boy and his mother's world which is limited to Room, Bed, Wardrobe, etc. Nicely written and sadly reminiscent of recent kidnapping stories. Pretty scary.

5. I'm glad I don't have one of those POPULAR blogs followed by hundreds or thousands of readers. Can you imagine the pressure I would feel to be entertaining and relevant? On my blog, I'm ridiculously unpressed by expectations of greatness.

6. Though I'm all for freedom of speech, I don't see why the Supreme Court allows that nut-job religion to picket soldier's funerals with their vitriol.

7. Do I care that the NFL and the players are squabbling over billions of dollars? Not so much...Poor babies!

That's a lot to take in, let me tell you. To start, I've never been much of a Tom Brokaw fan but I have always had a crush on Gerald McRaney and I still think he looks wonderful...and yummy. Ok, I also throw stuff of my husband's away. If it's been in the junk drawer for 2 years untouched I toss it and then the very next day he goes looking for it.

How funny, I was just about to write a post on how I've suddenly realized that I no longer think the "young male lead" character in a movie is cute! I think the "father" character is cute now. A sure sign of getting older!

I zoomed through Room because I couldn't put it down. Doesn't the child's voice ring true? I found the book very absorbing.

I agree with you on Charlie Sheen, feel sorry for his LOST SOUL, he needs a good dose of some JESUS preaching to heal his lost Soul.Would he listen if we sent him some tapes????
TOM BROKAW....I stopped listening to ALL news shows except FOX NEWS, as they are the only ones in MY H-O that does not spin the truth!!!
I have tossed out many things deemed very necessary before, once a bonus check, I had to dig in the garbage too!!I agree on the paper clutter, although I use to be more of a neat nick, now not so much, my hubby has his OWN drawer to clutter up all he likes, I stay out of it!!

It's really too bad people like Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson and their ilk have to be in the spotlight. Kinda make humanity look bad! Dorks.

I had a whole 'nother post published this morning dealing with Charlie Sheen. Then I finished up the one about Hank and I thought . . . why am I putting this nut Charlie boy onto my blog which was going to be just another way of getting him attention. Hank's much better than he is. So I switched posts. He's certainly not dealing with a full deck. And I'm sick of him. Media???? Stop airing him!

There. I feel better.

Mark is the one who always loses receipts....as soon as he gets one, he has to give it to me or it's a goner.
And I am so over seeing Charlie Sheen in the news. There has to be more important things that they could put on the news.
