I had a 7 lb. pork shoulder in the oven Thursday night when Daughter called and said they weren't coming because she had too much stuff to do with rentals, kids, and everything else. So I put the roast in the refrigerator, packed my bags, and headed out at 4 Friday morning.
I didn't do much except hold down the fort with the boys while she ran all over and did things. I don't know how she does it. I get tired just watching her.
We ate breakfast picnic style Saturday morning. It truly was a loaves and fishes thing. She had nothing to eat but managed to eke out a nice little breakfast of muffins and bacon.Rooster has a sore throat and is sick and afflicted. His mom is taking him to the doctor tomorrow. They sure have some rough luck lately.
So I left Vegas at 4 o'clock their time this morning and made it home by 10 our time. Dang Daylight Saving Time certainly screws me up. I woke up at 3:40 their time and am now watching the Cardinals and Eagles for a while before Nascar. The boys aren't allowed to watch sports on TV on Sunday. And that's fine...but as for me in our house, we watch sports. Sorry!
I'm glad to be home. I am dirty and tired but I survived the weekend. Another one down...Nothing traumatic next week that I know of.

Sounds like a fun, little, quick trip. I am sure the daughter appreciates the help with the boys. The breakfast picnic looks fun.
I am watching the Race but really only giving it half of my attention. I am hoping Tony Stewart takes the race and teh Chase. It would be pretty cool. The ads for the Vegas race make me want to go there again. If I make it and you go, we should meet up.
Wow, talk about adaptable! You WIN the prize! How nice of you to drive over to be with the kiddos and take some pressure off your daughter and her life.
CUTE photo of the breakfast picnic, by the way. I adore your jammies AND your hair.
What's up with the sore throat again? Hope it's nothing too serious (like tonsils) and he gets better soon.
The sucker in G's mouth is precious....was it to keep him quiet?
Glad you are home safe and sound. And I'm with you and the time change. Screws up my body!

Check you out being all spur of the momenty. Glad you got to visit with the boys. Even more glad you are home safe and sound.
Sounds like those boys are livewires.
It makes me tired just to think you of getting up that early to take off and drive that far.
Sorry the little guy isn't feeling well. Hopefully he's back to normal soon.
We always watch Nascar on Sunday's! I'm a die hard Johnson fan :)
Welcome home! Glad it was a decent trip. Except for leaving at 4 a.m.! Blech.
My girls love to do any meal picnic-style. Something about eating on the floor, I guess!
Thanks for your comment on my blog. Made my day! :-)
Visits can be fun and stressful at the same time. Glad you got to see each other after all. Being spontaneous makes memories. Everyone looked happy. A good time was had by all, that's what counts. Take care.
That haircut picture is priceless. Glad you survived, glad you're home.
