Garbage In. Garbage Out

Ready for a new week! (or weak) aaah...Still on wobbly legs from the flu bug last week. That sucker knocked the tar out of me. I haven't been any where for five days except to church. (and I'm not so sure they were happy to see my germy self) Guess I'm not contagious any more, but I feel polluted and depleted. This too will pass.

It's supposed to get up to 112 degrees by Thursday here. Oh, yeah! Fried everything...!! Summer is officially here in the seven circles of hades. My garden is probably toast--literally.

Finished the Sloppy Firsts series. One of the three would be enough. Repetitive and dragged out in the third book. I didn't like what the author did with Marcus. Since when do we need another self-centered, uncommitted male? When? McCafferty's style is clever at first but grates after a while.

I did start The Help. Love it really, but I must be terribly short sighted. I just think authors tend to create redundancies in the plot and worry them to death. Just state a fact and go on. How many times do we have to revisit the toilet in the garage issue or polish another piece of silver which later comes up missing (according to Hilly)? I love Stockett's style and imagery but some of the daily routine is superfluous.

I must muck out this foul house today. Changed the sheets earlier but then lost my inspiration. A Diet Coke and a few croutons and I'm sure I'll bounce back. I don't have much of interest today either. The writing drought lingers. Enjoy your new week and pray for the Gulf.

112?!?!?!? 112?!?!? That is why I turned down the job in Arizona.

Yikes... it got up to 94 this weekend and I was ready to peel my skin off. But it was really humid... like... 100%. Yuck-o.

Enjoy your Diet Coke and croutons. And don't worry if you don't regain the inspiration to muck out the house. That's what the hubby is for, on occasion.

I loved sloppy firsts, but then again I read it as a 16 year old ingenue with an incredibly different outlook on life. I heard good things about the help, but I'm not sure if its my style either. I have so many books on my summer reading list!

You went to church? silly woman.

I can't seem to stay with a book these days. I have no patience for stupidity so if they go on and on about nothing I get pissed off.
I get pissed off a lot these days, 112 degrees would have me a stark raving lunatic!
Send Barley up to me for the summer, she can keep Gracie company.
Continue on the road to recovery and break out that bottle of Clorox!

I hope you feel better soon!! Take it easy and let your body recover. I swear by Clorox wipes and Lysol to keep the germies at bay!!! You need some complex carbs and lean protein and you'll be golden in no time!

Stay inside!!! That is soooo hot, hot, hot!
