Sunday After Thursday

We put up our Christmas lights outside yesterday. Now Lola barks about every five minutes because she can see them through the glass block window by the front door. She thinks some one has pulled up in a car. Lola isn't terribly smart.

I tried to change my blog background for Christmas. I don't love it, but I've changed it about three times top to bottom and this is the best I can accomplish. It's quite white.

Rick and I rode 2.9 miles on our bikes today. I figure that wore off  150 calories. Sheesh! The weather was heavenly--about 70 degrees, sunny, and no breeze. People were  all out in their yards putting out inflatable Christmas decorations. This is the weirdest place during the holidays. Christmas in the 80's has some drawbacks. Just unnatural, I tell you.

This deflating thing isn't going well for me at all. I've been eating left over ham like it's from a veggie plate. Do you think ham has much sodium? (That's a retorical question...Doesn't need an answer!) My hands, feet, and butt are quite puffy.

We're going to Daughter's this weekend. They finally made it back from the cabin. She only has 8 additional people at her house today. If I were her, I'd suggest we not come because I'd be so sick of people. I don't think she feels that way though. For some reason she loves having lots of people around constantly. I've already told you--she did NOT get that trait from me. I think I'd be a good recluse. I really would be relatively happy if I didn't go anywhere or see anyone for long periods of time.

The inside of the house is in limbo. I took down the Thanksgiving/autumn decorations and don't have the strength to put up Christmas yet. But we will have a tree this year. I didn't last Christmas and it just felt unmerry the whole month. So tomorrow I will attempt to round up some decorations and prepare to start decorating.

I hope you are recovering after Thanksgiving and had safe and pleasant gatherings. I feel guilty now having said I resented Rick working on people's cars. It isn't all women, Roe! I should be grateful that they will ask him for help and that he can. Heaven knows we're never doing anything too important to help others. Please forgive my scrooginess. I hope you will ask for help if needed and not feel as if you shouldn't. We feel wonderfully blessed when we help others. I should learn to keep my big mouth shut! I really should.
