Tennis, Anyone?

I don't play tennis. But I love watching Wimbledon. I don't know if it's the stuffy English, the strawberries and clotted creme, or the grass itself, but I just love Wimbledon. So yesterday I happened to turn on a match (game? Whatever they are called...). I didn't even know the players--Isner and Mahut--but I do now. Turned out I was watching history in the making: the longest match in history. And it's not over yet. It had started Tuesday, was called for darkness, resumed Wednesday and totals over 10 hours so far. It will continue today. It's 59 all in the last set? match? game? Anyway, it's a lot. I was amazed at the endurance of the two players. I stumbled upon a piece of history. I'm excited to see the ending. (I know. I lead a small life.)

Some restaurant owner in Mesa is serving lion burgers to celebrate the World Cup play in Africa. Well, now that has to be a superbly bad idea! Picketers and protesters, of course. Leaves you to wonder, "What was he thinking?" Idiot!! No one wants to eat kitty cat!! Think of something else to salute Africa, you moron.

I'm working on another baby blanket for newbie grandchild. These are serviceable but not terribly lovely creations. Not much skill involved though I've struggled putting the minky and the flannel together. (I'm rather limited in my talents, I take it.) No need for pictures--flat flannel and flat minky. I'll post pics when I get the whole bunch finished. Oh, and daughter is upset that I've purchased a plane ticket to see my mom Sept. 9-11. (My mom's 89th birthday is the 11th.) She swears she thinks she'll have the baby then even though her due date is Sept. 30th. Selfish much, Rach?? The slogan "It's all about me..." was created for this child. I reminded her that I had to buy tickets by June 24th in order to get the killer price and she'd be fine. She's upset with me AGAIN. (Oh, dear!) Sigh!

JoJo at Newlywed Adventures has awarded me The fabulous Sugar Doll blogger Award. Oh, my! Thank you so much. (Can I tell you that I struggle getting those links posted right? You young people are so talented.) Any way, I'm supposed to post ten things about myself and then give the award to 10 other bloggs that I think are "sugar dolls" and then tell them. Holy Hannah! That's a lot of stuff to do. You don't know me at all if you think I can do all that! Last time I gave out an award one the people I gave it to never posted it and I felt sort of stupid. Sorry, JoJo. I love you! You already know all you need to about me anyway. (It's all boring--boring, I say!)  I'll think about mustering up my courage to pass on the honor. It's a little scary! (I know. I'm stupid.)

Cave Creek (an artsy community near here) is having an art fair thingie this weekend. It's touted with the logo "We're not afraid of hell, we live in Phoenix..." Hahaha! See, it's hot here!! It will be 112 here today. Not the record high either--116! We sizzle here in AZ. (But it's a dry heat...) Ha!

Story: One day, I was in Cornwall, England. We were served clotted cream. I thought it was like whipped cream, so I took a big ol' hunk of it and put it in my mouth. Um, it's more like butter than whipped cream. It was absolutely disgusting. sigh

I honestly don't know if she even noticed it. She was in the middle of her afternoon nap. I want to say I remember her picking her head up, but I don't know if it was a reaction to the earthquake or just the fact that she heard the person starting their truck up outside. She seemed really indifferent either way!

I liked the movie Wimbledon... I don't think I could handle watching the actual sport on TV, though.

I heard about the lion burgers. Gross. I heart kitties... even really big, super-carnivorous ones.

Lions Meat??? Serously?? Some people really are morons - And is it even legal - I would think it would not be legal to kill a lion and serve the meat. Ugh.

I'm glad you get to visit your mom. I hope it all works out with your daughter - I am sure her hormones are working overtime right now.

And I don't think I could laugh any harder at the slogan "We aren't scared of Hell we live in Arizona!". VERY funny!

As far as awards go - I thought it was so fun when I started blogging but then it gets really hard to think of things to say and to pass them on so if I get an award I usually say Thanks but I don't participate. At first I thought it was probably rude but I think alot of people feel that way. So don't sweat it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has problems sewing with minky! It can be a real b-----!
Your daughter, you gotta love em;)
And 10 things huh? I'm still trying to think of 7 from the award you gave me, seriously I have not forgotten.
And tiger burgers? aren't they endangered? I think the guy has shit for brains.

Why would Rachel think that she would have her baby three weeks early? She isn't pregnant with twins, so the goal is to get close the the due date. She cracks me up. She never has like waiting for things. I love her. :)

I noticed a typo the first time I commented on this, so I wanted to change it, but I couldn't, so I deleted it and now IT LOOKS STUPID.

Ugh.

I carry around a lot of unnecessary stress. Can you tell? lol.

Anyway...

Your wish for a pic of Boss Lady is my command.
