Untestimonial

If you are LDS (as I am and I think several who follow my blog) you know about testimony meeting. Not my favorite Sunday, I might add. Sorry, good members! (I almost wrote a blog yesterday about losing my religion, but I went to church and felt a little less heathen.

Anyway, back to testimony meeting. You always hear those people who get up and say they were just unable to sit there any longer and had to get up and "bear" their testimony. It's really a nice thing, I guess, if you feel that urgency and fervor. I, however, have NEVER! I never get up to say anything that I'm not specifically called upon to say. (I figure I get into less trouble that way--at least on this earth. The after life--meeh! Probably not such a good bet in that dimension.)

I'm telling you, I will get to a point here. THE POINT: I haven't posted for 5 days. Why? Cuz I have nothing to tell you. No burning in my bosom, no inspiration, and no feeling of need to tell you anything. See, that's really how I do feel sometimes. I feel like I'm just brimming with ideas and NEED to tell you. (And, of course, I'm equally sure at those times that you are equally eager to READ my thoughts.)

Eagerly I post and wait. Wait to see what blog ville will say. I know that we all talk about our blog being for us personally. And, by golly, it is. But it's also for me to see if my ideas are really bizarre or if anyone out in the world ever feels that way too. It's validation!

If I get comments and feedback, I feel valid. I sense that I'm not alone in the void and that someone out there is listening. I always get a comment or two. Never posted when NO ONE replied--thank God. Because, I might just dissolve into a puddle of goo if no one responded. Don't tell me that would be unwise. I really would be crushed if I never heard from any one. I'm fairly certain you would too. (Be honest!)

So when I had nuthin' to share for the past five days I felt marooned. I responded to your blogs. You have such interesting lives. From not being able to turn away from buoyant boobs in a laundry room, to recipes for brownies using black beans, to anniversaries, and gardens--I marvel at your fount of info. While I sit here in a black hole of opining.

I've been told not to worry, so I dare not post about my fears. I've been warned against watching too much  news, so you won't catch me sharing any verbiage about the oil spill or the Celtics or Palin boobage. I've overloaded you with tales of grand kids and dogs and my Arizona acclimation. Therefore, today you get an untestimonial. I got nada! I'll close on that note. Thank you for your time.

I just love you! We haven't been blog friends for too long but I love how honest you are and how you say what's on your mind!
You should not give in to peer pressure my friend - blog about whatever the heck you want!! AND if you have nothing to say that's ok too!!

How hot is it where you are? Do you have a pool you hang out at or is it all about the A/C?

Even though I originally started blogging just for myself, the validation I get with comments means so much to me and makes me feel good. I completely hear what you're saying.
Writers block is normal even for the best writers out there. It's just important to write what you know and let the little things inspire you.
P.S I love my little boob shout out ;-)

FYI, I have had several posts with no comments:(

And sometimes we just have a dry spell, writers block, brain dead, too much heat...

For some reason blogs are a bit quiet lately, the optomist in me is not taking this personally, I like to envision everyone working in their yards.

I like your blog. It's okay to have days with nothing to say, though. I go through them too!

These days happen to me too. Inspiration always comes, and your life is full of adventure, I just know it!

You're so funny!! :D

I really still think you need a hobby. Something that is fun and appeals to YOU and makes you stretch a bit. Get out of your comfort zone just a little and discover something new.

Don't worry. Trust me, it doesn't solve anything! Big hugs!!!

Your hilarious Jo & I love your writing. The same thing happens to me. Some days I just go to work & then chill with friends & come home & I'm like okay i don't need to tell the world. I think its perfectly okay on blogger for people to just not post for a few days. It's supposed to be fun & when it turns into a job or a hassle to post then whats the point? If you want to post, then do it, if not..so be it. =)

I can so relate....some days I really want to blog, but I just can't think of anything worth typing. Blah. Oh well.
So, we're moving to the Idaho Falls area. All of my family live either in Rigby or Rexburg right now. I guess it all depends on where Mark finds a job, but we are hoping to stay close!

Oh you are so funny! I love testimony meeting just because its not just sitting listening to one speaker. I like the change of pace.

it's okay to have nothing to say, in fact Seinfield is a show that is suppose to be base on nothing! Sometimes having nothing to say is sufficient :)

Oh believe me, there are plenty of days where I've got nada too! It happens to all of us!

I've read on so many blogs about "bearing your testimony." I think we need to hear more about this. I'm very interested because I've made so many wonderful LDS friends in blogland. I'm always open to learning more about other people's faith.
