The King's 75th Birthday

Today, January 8, would have been Elvis's 75th birthday. Now for you young 'ens this probably means nothing, so just imagine that some icon of your day (I can't even think of one you might idolize) who was considered sexy and thrilling, now is dead and would be old. Gosh, now that I put it that way, it doesn't really sound that romantic or nostalgic, does it? Ugh! But trust me, it's a milestone. I didn't really fall all over myself for Elvis. I was after all 15 when the Beatles became a "thing." Come to think of it, I didn't really swoon over any stars, but I did know Elvis's music and I love the movie "Blue Hawaii." Go figure.( Now this has turned into a rambling mess hasn't it.) So I guess I'll go buy more paint at Home Depot and paint celery in my laundry room to go with the blue I painted yesterday. It turned out NOT to be turquoise (which I spelled incorrectly yesterday--sorry.) It's a greenish, azure blue that I used in the bathroom and it needs a little something in there too so I might splash on some celery there as well. I'm so thrilled with these blogs I'm following. I'm inspired to be creative and productive. I'm excited to have a few more people who follow the blog. I'm even thinking of giving it some fresh title other than THE GOODINGS. So if you see a strange title, it's me. (Oh, and "Blue Christmas"--you gotta love Elvis's "Blue Christmas"!
