The Jolly Month of June

Today would have been my dad's 91st birthday. I like June 1st. It just signals summer, warmth, being out of school, sleeping in, strawberries fresh from the garden, and sleep overs in the yard.

Here in Arizona June is HOT!! But I cherish the warmth. When I go outside in the dark the air wraps around like soothing bath water. It's still 90 degrees at 9:30 and there's no frigid Idaho wind whipping.

This morning when I went out front to get the newspaper a quail was high up on the street lamp. He yawped at me as if to say, "What the heck? I was enjoying peace and quiet until you came out of the house, human being!" So I yawped back in my best quail speak and retreated to leave him to enjoy the sunrise.

I so love summer. June is just delightful here.

I love June too. It's such a happy month! Not too hot here yet. Everything in bloom. It's my favorite month for sure.

June is my favorite summer month. It is not too hot yet and everything is still green from the spring rains. Throw in a few afternoon/evening thunderstorms and I am a happy camper.

Wow that's toasty for early June!! I didn't know quail could even fly. I guess I never thought about it. I know they are pretty birds and rather tasty too. Enjoy the warmth!!

I love June and not only because my birthday is in June and it is the last month of school, but because everything is better in June.
