Little Blakers had a bad cold and cough and unwittingly he shared the bounty with me and Rooster. I wanted a nap but there is no time before I need to fix dinner.
All the way to and fro from Kingman, we passed Nascar trucks loaded with different driver's equipment, cars, and general race stuff. There were fancy motor coaches towing toy-hauler-like trailers, too. I pretended that Kyle Busch or someone notable was in each one. Since most
My favorite activity was being read to by the boys. Rooster especially is really reading well now. The latest "book" was Sid Hid. You might have had this read to you if you've had a kindergartner recently. Blake read the gripping My Bus. His version involves looking at the pictures and then reciting, "My jacket, my bus, my book, " etc. I tried covering up the pictures, but he has it memorized, I think. He can see the pictures faster than slow ol' grandma can cover them any way. We did some homework and I read many books to them too. I love seeing my boys learn and advance.
Lola and I are still trying to unwind. Lola senses a void but she's not quite sure what the silence means.
So we go back to our not-so-regular life of cleaning and cooking and folding. My throat burns and the inside of my ears itch down in my neck. Do you ever get that when you're getting sick? I'm so not looking forward to the next week or so. Cough, sputter, sniffle...

I thought about you this morning and wondered how everything was going with the boys. We are pretty big Nascar fans here. Hubby went to see the race yesterday but I had other junk to do. Hope you feel better, let me know if you want me to bring you some soup. Don't worry, I won't cook it, I'll pick it up from Quizno's. I always want their broccoli cheddar when I'm sick.
Heh. Unwittingly shared the wealth. I envy your sickness! My life is pretty silly when I look forward to being sick as time off!
You need to come back to Idaho, we'll freeze the cold tickle sniffles right out of you
Sounds like a busy few days.
Awesome that you were able to see famous stuff like Nascar cars. Too fun for the boys.
I've thought about trying to understand Nascar. One thing I do understand already, though - Dale Earnhardt, Jr., is a FOX! That just might make the whole thing worth it. ;-)
I won't say like racing....but I can't say I don't like it either since I spent my late teen years on a race tract rooting for the Eight Ball.
Hope you feel better. Think strong hot toddy. Where is the header photo taken because it looks very familiar.
I used to do promotional modeling at NASCAR in NH. I always had to put on some skin-tight black pants or short, and a team polo... and walk around handing out freebies, or doing drinking/smoking surveys. Crappy work, but it paid $15/hr, and if you do it all weekend long... well...
Long story short, I'm not a "fan," but I find it interesting. :)
