Something to Look Forward To?

The grandtwins are coming tomorrow! Half of me OK maybe 3/4 is dreading the visit because it's so much work...I'm a horrible grandma! And lazy! That's the real rub. I just enjoy not having to gird my loins for the onslaught. However, once I see those adorable faces and feel those hugs (all sticky and messy), I'm fine.

So off I go to buy kid food--hot dogs and chicken nuggets--make chocolate muffins and buy juice and Cheez Its. Their momma informs me they need haircuts, new jeans, and to read kindergarten books to me. It's supposed to rain intermittenly this weekend. But we'll find stuff to do inside, I'm sure.

Rev up for the arrival, Grandma! At least I won't slog my life away today. I'm such a slug some days. I'd better eat my Wheaties cuz those boys are energetic and getting more so by the minute. Gear up, Grandma Jo!

I like your header. And I think your hair is really cute in that photo. Not that you said it wasn't but just sayin'.

I so agree with you and know EXACTLY what you are talking about.
Sounds like you got some haircuts to get appointments made, some shopping to do....go with target......oh ya and hotdogs.

I feel your pain, they are a lot of work and you love them to death. Hire a maid when you are empty nested again.

I think that's why they don't let grandma's have kids..we'd be too worn out to handle them all.the.time!

You'll love it..but I feel the exact way as you....so much pre-visit work!!

I think this is how my mom feels when I bring my kids over. And probably why I don't bring them over very much anymore...I just feel so bad and stressed out when we're over there because I know it bothers her! It's better when she comes to my house. :)

You need to find a new salon, one that brings you a cold drink and has a gazillion magazines to read while you wait and a fabulously cute and funny gay stylist who is soo happy to see you and tells you how good you look...that's what you need!
Have fun with those boys. Remember to take them to McDonald's Playland, buy 'em a happy meal and let them play for hours in the tunnels and balls while you read a book!

I think just before the twins get there, you should run in place and listen to "Eye of the Tiger," a la Rocky. And if you do, please videotape it.
Ditto to what Lucy said, too - I like your hair in that header photo. Really cute and it just seems like YOU!

Yay!! You're going to have so much fun!!!! Do they have one of those indoor play places where you live? They're huge and let kids run around til they drop, so they aren't running around like that in your home, lol! Boys especially! Don't forget to take pictures!!!

You are a great grandma. You always seem to do such fun things when they are there. Even if you are glad when they go home- you earned that raising Rachel. :) Hope things are going well. We have a few new inches of snow this morning. I know you are jealous. :)

Sooo fun! We are bad bloggers buds lately. We have been so behind the times. I love to have visitors, but yes it is a lot of work. Hope you survive! :)
