Fat and Lazy

I'm too lazy to get up and take pictures. So picture this in your mind, readers. I built two more pennant strands--one is red/white/blue and another is salmon and turquoise. They are OK. I still need to perfect the tape or strand they go on. I've been using bias binding left over from quilts past. I need to get twill tape if I make them for friends and family. I tried to use materials I had without buying anything and it looks like it too. :o(

Bought another hummingbird feeder. It was $1.10 cheaper, if you're counting. And though it doesn't leak yet, it also has drawn no hummers. Those picky little beasts. I swear they hate me since we cut down that messy tree. They're spiting me as they whir over my yard and I think I heard them giving me the ol' raspberry as they flew over my feeder with distain. Hateful birds. I might get a seed bird feeder for other birds and wash my hands of the stupid little buggers.

This morning while reading the paper--the ads for big houses and luxurious clothes and furniture--I happened to say to Rick, "I want to be rich or beautiful. Which do you think I have the better chance of being?"

Without a seconds hesitation, he replied, "Rich!"

He didn't pause a bit. (It's the truth, people. I swear.) I'm just at a loss for words (and that's rare for me.) I was sure he'd say something like "You're already beautiful and we'll never be rich!" You know, like any sensitive husband would respond. The fact that he answered "rich" is especially sad since we have a snowball's chance in hell of ever being wealthy. So that tells you how close I am to beauty. Blast! Foiled again...

As you well know, the world didn't come to an end. We're all still here in much the same condition as before, I'm afraid. So keep cleaning those houses and paying those bills for a while more. I see no other solution for a while.

Oprah is saying farewell this week. I will kind of miss the idea of her, but not so sure I'll miss her. Frankly, I've grown a bit weary of Ms O. She's almost too rich and too wise for me to comprehend in my humble state of plainness and poverty. I'm sure she'll do fine with her OWN endeavor and continue to amass her empire. psh!

It's gonna heat up this week, Arizonans--105 degrees by Friday and Saturday--I'm sure glad we have that shade sail up. The two feet of shade should come in handy with those temperatures. (Sarcasm here, people...)

One of my medications expired by one day and the doctor hasn't called in to renew it yet. I'm three days without anti-depression pills. Ugh! What has the medical field come to!

You put the lime in the coconut
You drank them both up
You put the lime in the coconut,
You drank them both up
put the lime in the coconut,
you drank them both up
put the lime in the coconut,
called your doctor, woke him up, and said,

"Doctor, ain't there nothing I can take"
I said, Doctor, to relieve this belly ache?"
I said, Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take"

Honey, it seems that you may be losing it, but I'm right here. You can put all the limes in all the coconuts but it's not going to help. Also, I think you're absolutely beautiful! Really! You have the most amazing eyes I've ever seen and I'm going to call Rick and tell him that! He probably just spent too much time in the sun yesterday. Our hummers don't like our house either. We had a lot last year but I've only seen one this year. Maybe the coyotes are eating them.

One of Mum's favorite sayings was "It's too bad I was born beautiful instead of rich"!

To relieve this belly ache....DOKTOR doktor so let me get this straight.....

Eh hem sorry I sorta got caught up in the moment.

Dumb hummers anyway. I almost bought one yesterday then thought of you.

Good luck with those temps. I'd try and feel sorry for you but I am still a bit frosted about eating a ton of cheesecake for the end of the world and all ..... The only person I feel sorry for is my jeans.

Rick really did say that? He might need to sleep with one eye open.

I so hear you on the meds. I've been on Zoloft for a few years now and though I'm extremely happy and sometimes think I could get along without them, the idea of going off them is pretty scary. So it's extra dork when something like a doctor being slow keeps you from them! Hope they come soon.

And really...don't listen to Rick. Heat must be scramblin' the ol' noggin. You are beautiful and so much fun. See how much comment love you're getting here? We adore you and are so happy we get to read your funny thoughts every day. Tomorrow's another day, another week, and there'll be lots to be happy about. :-)

Men need to think before they speak. They'd be alot better off!

One time we put up 2 feeders and you couldn't walk across the porch because the hummingbirds would run into you. It was crazy!

Happy Monday!

Jo? I just discovered your blog this evening, and I think I've been reading our past posts for the last two hours. I have had a blast! I'm anxious to get to your older, older ones, because then I'll understand some comments you've made about being on medication, and evidently your mother has Alzheimers. But I did want to tell you that the comment you made to your husband has had me sitting here laughing my ass off. You asked him "I want to be rich or beautiful. Which do you think I have the better chance of being?"

Without a seconds hesitation, he replied, "Rich!"

Too damn funny!!! Too funny!!! I'm definitely following you! Definitely!
