Rickster's Birthday

Today is Rickster's birthday. He worked. I bought him a cake. It's so hot here in AZ that the icing melted even in an air conditioned house. I couldn't get the humungous cake in the fridge before I cut it. It was a huge 1/2 sheet NASCAR cake (for little boys, I'm sure, hot wheels cars stuck in the icing. Do you know how hard it is to wash frosting off  little metal cars?) I had a choice between that size and a little 8" layer cake. He likes his birthday cake, so I went with the bigger one. Ugh!

I also splurged and bought steaks for his birthday dinner. Delicious! He likes his barely cooked and I managed to keep it rare enough but not mooing. Mine was more well done. After dinner I cut the melting cake and ate too much of the sugar frosting while I was trying to cut it into smaller parts so I could get it in the freezer and the fridge.

So now the cake is mutilated and separated into Tupperware. Some frozen. Some refrigerated. All a complete mess. Oh, well. We can thaw out the frozen part and use it for my birthday next week.

Rick's going over to a lady's house to put a pig tail on her dryer. He has jury duty tomorrow, but he won't know for sure if he has to report until 11 a.m.  I think jury duty in Phoenix is scary. He does too. Keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't get selected.

I mailed Rooster back some dinosaurs that he left here. Cost me $5.35 to mail 5 or 6 plastic toy dinosaurs that probably only cost $3 to buy. However, Grandma Jo, that's not the point. The point is that whatever my grandson asks if it's at all possible I will do. I'm a sucker for those boys.

What in the world does it mean to put a pig tail on an appliance?
And you are a great grandma. :-)

Happy day late Birthday Rickster! :) Yeah I'm not sure I'd want to be on jury duty anywhere these days!
