Oil Change Extravaganza!

Big day today--oil change for the Hyundai! I can barely contain my excitement. It usually entails waiting hours in a crowded, ugly room surrounded by lots of old people who worry about strange noises and smells in their cars.

Last time it cost me $800 or something horrific. I hope this time we can just have an oil change without all the extras--interior filters, exterior filters, serpentine belts, transmission flushes--Argh!

I'm not taking the camera, but I'm pretty sure you can visualize the fun I'm going to have. Temps are to reach 113 degrees today. Can you say "hydrate!"

I might even go to Costco on the way home. Are you jealous?

Sounds like a fun day! At least you know what a serpentine belt is! Have fun at Costco.

I see your Costco and raise you a visit to Sam's Club. I think we're in a dead heat. Heat being the operative word.

Thanks for your visit...and i wish I had a Hyundai, I hear they are great on gas. We are finally having warm days, first timer on 9 months! :D

I had an oil change the other day (luckily the Sears auto center was within walking distance of a Barnes and Noble, so I just chilled over there). $260 later, I also had a rotation/balance, alignment, coolant flush, air filter replacement, and some other thing that I can't remember at the moment. But it was all needed... my car wouldn't have survived the drive to Canada two weekends from now without it.

I am so jealous. I live my life and have excitement vicariously through you.

Gag! The heat. I cannot even imagine. That might be too much for me.

I hope the car behaves and doesn't cost you more than the farm.

Oil change AND Costco on the same day? Who are you and what have you done with my Jo?

Oh, sounds like a fun day! Hope there is a bit of cash left to warrant a visit to Costco. Fortunately for us my handy son lives around the corner (the same one who does all the work on our houses) and he just put a new manifold gasket thingy on my husband's car and saved us about $1000! Go Jeff!

We're hot here in Havasu, too, and I've been visiting the pool at the Northstar house until it sells.

Let us know how it went. Hope it was painless! And Costco is wonderful. I think I like looking at everything as much as my girls do.

Also, I see your friend Laraine said we're in "a dead heat. Heat being the operative word." I have to disagree with her. I'm pretty sure DEAD is the operative word. I saw the therm in my van read 116 this afternoon. Yeah. Dead.
