Versatile--Me?? OK

My sweet friend at Emily Going Nuts passed on to me The Versatile Blogger award. I love her for this considering I'm not terrifically versatile. I can barely type this blog and swallow at the same time. (But that's another blog.) In acceptance of this award I am to list seven things about myself. (I guess any seven things, not just seven ways I'm versatile. Whew! I don't have 7 in that list, you know.) So...here goes.

1. I was an English teacher for 33 years, but I'm not a naturally good speller. I read once that spelling is more along the lines of a math skill. Well, no wonder I can't spell...
2. I have a problem with heights. I can climb up just fine. I just can't climb back off the height--like roofs, trees, raised platforms, steep cliffs. I FREAK OUT! I'm like one of those cats they send firemen in to rescue.
3. I love mowing lawns. Now that I live in AZ and we have no grass, I'm really feeling the withdrawal symptoms. I love the smell of what our family calls "lawn mower sweat"--the dust, gas, grass, and sweat smell you get when mowing. I love the straight lines made and have to go up one way and down the other so each strip is going a different direction. I love seeing the long grass next to the mowed strips and how good it looks all clean afterward. OK. You get it! I love mowing lawns. (Rick and I once mowed 15 lawns a week to pay for carpet for our 900 sq. ft. house.)
4. I am a Nascar fan. Yep, I'm one of those. Used to hate it. Now I love it. Kyle Bush is my favorite driver. I'm sad I didn't watch when Dale Earnhart was alive. My heroes are the pit crews.
5. I have no medical history because I'm adopted. It sucks.
6. I eat croutons for snacks. It satisfies my craving for salty and crunchy and I buy fat free hoping that I can't eat enough of them to blow my diet. ??
7. I love being alone about 80% of the time. I'm not afraid to stay alone over night. I relish my solitude except when I want some body with me. There's a fine line. (My daughter and husband HATE being alone and are afraid to stay alone over night.) Genetics is amazing to me.

So now I need to pass this along to some blogs I think deserve the versatility award. I hope you will read these ladies. They make me laugh and they follow me, so I love them.

Bridgette at life in red shoes--a spunky, sassy, sarcastic lady who has a soft side. Excellent writer and a talented seamstress.
Queenie Jeannie at Jeannie's Happy World. She's versatile and funny and makes wonderful cards and she's moving to Italy which we're all jealous of.
Scrappy Girl at Scrappy Girl's World. Again, talented and funny and an all around good read.

And that is my post today--about as versatile as I get. Yet I love awards. I rarely get any so this is wonderful. Thanks Em.

Well congrats to you Miss Versatile. :) I don't feel like a very versatile person either. Oh well.

And I'm thinking of you with the "boobage abnormality". My mom had the same thing and it ended up being nothing. Just keep us posted.

The woman that tagged me with this award also said she loves to mow the lawn.

And I also eat croutons as a snack. Yum! :)

Congrats on the award! We have a lot in common. I love mowing lawns and "lawn mower sweat". I love Nascar and my Kyle Busch hat even though I don't have a favorite driver. I east croutons as snacks and I have no problems being alone.

My Grandfather was an english teacher and I wanted to teach english or history. Life, however led me elsewhere.

I hate heights, I could never in a million years walk on that clear skywalk thing, makes me sick just to look at photos!
Mowing- ehhh.
Nascar- no thank you.
Medical records- reads like a long, sad novel.

Being alone- oh yes!
