My eyesight is failing. No, it's not a serious, disease, sad-story thing. It's just age.( I've concluded that I'm one of the oldest bloggers of any that I read. And this bothers me, people. Who knows why! Maybe I just feel as if I should have something more mature and distinguished to do by this time in my life than blog...But, alas, I don't.) I had perfect 20/20 until I was around 40. Then it all went south along with my butt, my face, my boobs--just everything!
So eventually I had to give in to the idea that my sight was changing with age. I got reading glasses. Then I got bifocals, and now I've determined I need trifocals. I can't see the computer monitor as well as I used to, I can't pluck my eyebrows because without glasses I can't see the stragglers and with glasses I can't get to the eyebrows or really see because the bifocal is at the bottom, the eyebrow is at the top. It's complicated and more than a little frustrating. Then I was sewing yesterday and the needle eye all but disappears unless I squint, turn my head a certain way, and have lots of focused light. Crap! I hate being old and blind and ...the list goes on. Crap!
The sewing yesterday involved a new bag. I decided to make a pattern I saw and it turned out OK. The downfall is that I spent more at the fabric store than I probably would have it I'd bought a Coach bag. Crap!
We have fountain failure. We built this when we fixed the back yard. It never has held water as well as we were promised by the pottery guy who evidently saw us (green Idahoans) coming. What do we know about fountains? In Idaho few have them since they freeze solid and crack in winter which is 9 months of the year. So I have been filling the fountain religiously but now it just won't hold water long enough to let it run. We have a fountain fatality. Clear! Zap! Flatline...TOD 7:00 a.m., 4/28/10

I've never had perfect 20/20 (I was that cute little kid with glasses) and my vision gets worse every year... so what does that mean for me? When will my butt, face and boobs join my eyeballs?? I'm only 25. I'm not ready!!
That bag is SUPER CUTE. I love the colors. And who cares if you spent enough on fabric equaling the price of a Coach bag? Coach is nice, but interesting goodies made by hand are way better!! Besides, you got the entertainment factor out of it too. You don't get entertainment out of buying a Coach bag.
Or maybe you do... I don't know. :)
Btw, going back to a comment of yours from a few days ago...
I do plan on giving my boss the finger every day I'm on vacation. I might even document said "fingers" for entertainment value and post them on my blog the day I find a new job. Which will be happening sooner rather than later, after the stunt she pulled today.
Hey, you're lucky. I've had super bad vision my entire life! I'm virtually blind without my glasses. heaven help me if there is an end of the world scenerio where I can't get contacts and my glasses break. I'll have to be lead around like a true blind person. But still, I'm sorry things are fading for you.
p.s. I am covinced all fountains are a curse. I don't know anyone who has one who hasn't found them to be a nightmare.
Jo I am so glad you came to visit my blog. I love "meeting" new people.
You sound really cute - I love your realness :D
I'm sorry you had to move from Idaho but just so you don't feel too bad it snowed today in the Magic Valley - Right about now we could use a little of that Arizona Sunshine!!
The bag is really cute. My sewing machine is buried under a half finished levi quilt and my sons pants that need mending.
My eyes went down hill when I was in fifth grade. Terrible year! 16 years ago when I was pregnant they seemed to get worse every month. A few years ago, out of curiosity, I asked my eye doc what my vision is on a 20/20 scale. I was at about 20/800. Thank the lord for glasses and contacts that give us blind folks the gift of sight.
Oh man! That stinks. Very very cute bag!!!! You make me laugh! Take the dang fountain back to the idiot that sold it to you and make them fix it!
