Oh, Lola!

Lola itches her ears and chews her feet. In Idaho the vet was 1 block from our house and we loved him. Here? No clue. I asked the groomer several times and she gave me holistic, naturopathic doctors that are 10 miles away. Lola isn't really into all natural remedies and all kinds of scratch tests. She's just not...

I called several people in our ward that have animals and only got in touch with one. Guess I'll go with that one since it's close and well recommended, but there not open Saturdays (as Rick wanted) and they
can't get Lola in until Monday. Maybe that's a good sign. Maybe that means that a lot of people go there.

The receptionist was very nice and acted as though Lola was an individual little being and not just a four-legged patient. So, I'll try it. It's so stressful not to know doctors, vets, and other such people in our adopted state. That's when I miss home the most. I knew people there. I'd been through the tried and true tests.

I finished the Christmas cards, pumpkin bread, and a couple of other tasks yesterday. Have not finished the book and now I need to think about getting ingredients for peanut brittle. I have this no fail, super duper easy recipe that Rick's grandpa's housekeeper gave me. (She died shortly there after, so it's really special. You make it in an electric fry pan. You'd love it.)

Off I go to get something done. I can't believe it's Friday already. We are off to Culver's tonight for our Friday night outing. I refuse to call it a date. Dating was not a pleasant experience for me. I wasn't good at it, if you can imagine such an image. Pshh! I have no clue why with my pleasing personality and natural good looks. Anyway...that's why I'm thankful I have the Rickster--so I never have to go on another miserable date. Good weekend, blogfolks! Jingle on...

Culvers is a good choice. We went there last week on one of our non-dates. Good luck with the vet.

Hope the new vet can help Lola. Poor thing. Sounds like you did a good job Decking The Halls. The peanut brittle must be yummy. Enjoy your night out. Date or no date, have FUN. Take care.

Based on your previous "non date nights" at Culvers, Amy met me at one by my house. I can see why it's a regular haunt for you guys. Pretty yummy!
Hope all is well with Lola

If Brian were home now I'd make him jump in the car with me and crash your "date" at Culvers. He's working late tonight so you don't have to worry about it. Hope you like your vet. I love mine but it's at 107 Ave and Ind School. Too far for you.

I cringe every time I hear of a married couple having a " date night." Seriously, why the hell did you get married if want to keep dating?
You are several steps ahead of me in the game, I'm so far behind, I might be 1st ;)
Poor Lola, spin her around 3 times while you chant abracadabra?

I can't stand the "date night" thing either but what can I say. I've never had a "man". I hear you need one for that. And the C. K. and other places I can't go because of the lack of. Bwahahaha!

Hope Lola is recovered! I hate the thought of having to take my kitties to the vet. For some reason I didn't care about my children having to get shots, but my animals......I cry.

Have never heard of Culvers. Pretty sure we don't have one of this end of the state.

You haven't posted decorations photos yet.......still waiting. I just want to live vicariously through other peoples decor. (since I don't have a stinkin' thing done)

I love the pictures on the side of the blog! Your daughter is just beautiful, and her boys are precious. Makes me want to pinch some cheeks! ;-)

Thank you for your card! Really, I loooove getting Christmas cards. And mail in general. But especially Christmas cards.

Hope Lola feels better soon! I think she deserves a pic on the side of the blog, too, BTW. :-)

I hope Lola is okay. I am terrible at the dating thing - probably why I am still single. I hope you share the peanut brittle recipe. I love peanit brittle.
