My husband will never spend money on clothes or shoes. He thinks cheap is good enough for him when we're talking appearal. If it's tools or guns or vehicles that's a different story. He'll spend thousands on good quality tools (must be American made), guns (usually Italian), and vehicles (gas guzzlers with huge tires and nice rims.)
But shoes--if they are over $25 he thinks it's sinful. I've tried to tell him how important good quality shoes are. He's on his feet all day on concrete. Lately his back and legs have been giving him fits. He's gone to the chiropractor, bought an expensive bed, taken lots of Advil.
Finally, last night we were watching a commercial for Skecher Shape-ups.They are odd-looking, expensive shoes that are supposed to be good for posture, circulation, and lower back pain. Soooo I mentioned that they might be good for him. He scoffed.
This morning while working on his golf cart in the garage he came in cussing at his old, $19 tennis shoes that the dog has gnawed on. Said they hurt his feet and back. I grabbed my purse, keys and phone and ushered him out the door. We went to the shoe store and bought Skecher Shape-Ups in size 12 for over $100. I feared he'd have a mild stroke. But no, he was OK with the price. He thinks they might work. He thinks he feels better already. Well, hallelujah! Amen!
I sincerely hope they help his back. They have to be better than the shapeless, cheap, no-support pitiful excuses for footwear that he had. I won't even take those to Goodwill. It would be an insult to Goodwill. Even the homeless are better shod than Rick. Really! We see homeless people standing on the side of the road begging with their "Will Work for Food! God Bless...!" sign and Rick always says, "That guy has on better shoes than mine!" And he's right! The homeless guy's dog is better dressed than Rick.
So pray for Skecher's "healing" powers. Don't tell me if you bought them too and they're bogus. If these don't help, maybe he'll BELIEVE they will. If they don't I'll never get him to pay over $25 for shoes again.

my stepmother-in-law works 60 hours a week in a hospital and she loves them! she said they really help her back feel better.
Shoes to make a huge difference. I've been wondering about those:)
I've heard that some people love them and some totally hate them. Most people with back problems love the support and apparently they feel much better.So it sounds like they could really help your hubs.
I've been wanting to buy a pair myself.

Hey, I've talked to a couple of people that won't wear anything else, they love them.
I just might get a pair for myself...my feet hurt like hell all the time.
